In March 2023, Fieldway were awarded the contract to supply and commission LED lighting and emergency lighting for Progress Housing at Derby House, as part of their energy initiative and commitment to reducing their carbon footprint.

Progress Housing are a social housing provider with approximately 11,500 properties throughout the UK, and a number of subsidiaries within various sectors including property development, health services, and supported living.

The contracted works included the supply of luminaires, sensors and switches from the lighting manufacturer Lux Bright Solutions, who developed the design and specification for the upgrade. Offering the most energy efficient lighting solution, Lux Bright proposed the use of LED luminaires with integrated sensor control that dim fittings to 10% output when the area is unoccupied – reducing Derby House’s excess electricity use and improving the property’s lighting efficiency.

After arriving on site, our in-house electricians began the process to remove the existing battery system throughout the building. Works were phased by floor: Lux Bright replacements began on the First Floor of Derby House and then moving onto the Ground Floor. We installed a total of 102 LED luminaires across the two floors. In high use areas, such as corridors and stairways, we have installed Lux Bright’s DualLED luminaires, which possesses a lifespan of 100,00 hours – double the industry standard.

Upon completion of the installation and upgrade, our Project Manager undertook a thorough snagging and commissioning process, ensuring our work was of in line with all standards and of the highest quality.

Following on from this, in November 2023, Fieldway were awarded a contract by Progress Housing to supply and commission LED lighting and emergency lighting at Tuson House and Laidleys Manor including luminaires, sensors and switches.
