Client : St Mungos
Sector : Social Housing
Service : Passive Fire
Location : London
Scope of Works : In 2024, Fieldway were appointed to deliver fire door remedials and replacements to 20 St. Mungos properties in London, from previously completed fire door surveys. Upon award, our dedicated FIRAS surveyors undertook our own detailed fire door surveys to verify the outline, and ensure any new or unknown breaches were included within the final report. Off the back of our updated surveys, we expanded our contract scope to include the newly identified actions.
Using our works management system, OneTrace, surveyors downloaded St. Mungo’s initial survey floor plans and overlaid blank plans on top. This provided a clear visual representation for the new surveys, highlighting areas where new or previously unknown breaches were identified. Each breach was “pinned” to its exact location on the plans, ensuring that fire stoppers and joiners could easily locate and resolve the issues during delivery.
Contract delivery to St. Mungos properties involves unique challenges that Fieldway are equipped to handle with complete sensitivity and efficiency – as a result of our previous history delivering various works to occupied social housing spaces.
Many properties offer accommodation to incredibly vulnerable individual, including the homeless, recovering alcoholics/addicts, those suffering with mental health concerns, and tenants with previous instances of violence/aggression or unsocial behaviour at their previous housing situations.
We proactively promote stringent safeguarding policies designed to ensure the safety of our workforce, the tenants, and the general public – including requiring all on-site staff to complete CPD Level 1 Safeguarding Training to ensure appropriate (and safe) interactions with tenants. All operatives undergo Enhanced DBS checks prior to contract appointment; ensuring individuals that may pose a risk to tenants are prohibited from site.
