Sector : Education
Service : Fire Alarm Installation
Location : Moreton, Wirral
In June 2021, Fieldway were awarded a contract by Wirral Borough Council to install a new Fire Alarm system at Lingham Primary School over the School Summer Holidays. This involved stripping out the existing fire alarm and commissioning the new system in line with manufacturer requirements.
We installed a Grade A L2 System with an Advanced MX Pro 5 Panel and Apollo detection throughout the school. The panel we provided offers extended 38-hour battery life, ensuring prolonged protection in the scenario of power failure.
The installation was overseen by Project Manager Mike Allen who managed the programme of works. During mobilisation a detailed programme was created and communicated to the engineers to ensure that all aspects of the delivery and on-site requirements were fully understood. The programme included set project milestones and we tracked the project progress through weekly site meetings to review targets.
To complete the works we utilised a team of four engineers. They were selected by Mike based on experience and geography. All Fieldway engineers are suitably qualified to work with equipment for all fire alarm manufacturers and are cross-inducted across multiple contracts to ensure we have sufficient cover. The lead engineer for this project was the designated quality supervisor, ensuring all works were completed to BAFE standards.
We completed all work in time for the recommencement of the school term and with full adherence to the specification requirements.
