Since April 2020, Fieldway have completed works for a project over 13 sites for various passive fire jobs including compartmentation and fire door upgrades for Southway Housing Trust in South Manchester. Works completed across the sites included fire door upgrades and adjustments, installing intumescent seals and smoke seals, the installation of door closers, penetration sealing, compartmentation works to loft spaces, and the installing of fire action and safety signage.
Southway Housing Trust owns and manages homes across Burnage, Chorlton, Didsbury and Withington and provides services for tenants, residents, the environment and wider community of south Manchester and beyond. They aim to provide high quality affordable homes in desirable neighbourhoods where people are happy to live and can achieve their potential.
We have completed works at Southway’s Mersey Bank Site. Following the issue of a notice of repair from Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, a shop with flats above had no fire barrier between the ceiling of the shop and the flats upstairs.
Fieldway were tasked with installing the fire barrier and sealing all penetrations within the building. Whilst the ceiling was removed to complete the works, we provided the shop with temporary lighting from a temporary power supply, therefore not passing any costs onto the establishment. We also provided temporary firefighting equipment for the duration of the works.
