Client : Transport for Greater Manchester (TFGM)

Sector : Commercial

Service : Active Fire Maintenance

Location : Manchester

In January 2015, Fieldway were awarded a contract with Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) to provide fire alarm, emergency lighting servicing and maintenance as part of a full M&E servicing contract to twenty eight bus depots, office buildings and bus stations across Manchester. Other equipment involved in the contract includes smoke aspiration systems, intruder alarms, PA systems, door entry systems and AOV’s.

Organising service site visits started in the first year by arranging visits based on expiry dates of the last certificate.  A works coordinator was allocated to the contract that organises monthly, quarterly and annual visits by contacting the individual site seven days prior to appointment with the depot manager.  From the stock and asset condition report carried out on year one of the contract we were able to tailor our operatives’ van stock to enable the highest first time fix rate possible, reducing the requirement for temporary fixes wherever possible.

We continued to operate for TfGM throughout the current COVID pandemic by updating our health and safety policies and procedures where required. Our Health and Safety Manager has issued toolbox talks to the operatives and employees updating them on our new safe systems of work.  We are operating with social distancing measures in place and full PPE and sanitising equipment to protect our employees, clients and the public.
