In January 2018, Fieldway were awarded the contract to design, supply and install new fire alarm systems including remote monitoring to nine 16-floor high rise blocks of flats in South Manchester.
Wythenshawe Community Housing Group (WCHG) manages almost 14,000 properties, providing homes for more than 29,000 people in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
We appointed a dedicated project manager to oversee the works, ensuring quality was maintained throughout and timescales were delivered upon. We appointed a resource of 7 engineers overseen by a lead engineer to oversee progress from a technical perspective. Protec 6500 fire alarm panels were installed at all 9 sites with AICO fire alarm detectors in the communal areas.
On completion of the fire alarm upgrade project, due to excellent performance and finishing the work well ahead of schedule, we built an excellent rapport with WCHG resulting in the award of additional projects. This included two additional fire alarm installs at Peneth College Court and Kenneth Collice which required interfacing the warden call system. We are also currently completing passive work on the back FRA’s, demonstrating our comprehensive approach to fire safety.
