Mosscare St Vincents (MSV)

Sector : Social Housing

Service : Fire Alarm Install

Location : Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire

Following a competitive tender on the Procure Plus Framework, Fieldway were appointed to deliver the installation of Kentec and Apollo fire alarm systems to communal areas in a variety of buildings, with AICO devices installed in individual dwellings to the selected sites as per the consultant SI Sealy’s specification. The system was interfaced with a Tunstall warden call system and connected to an alarm receiving centre.

MSV own and manage almost 9,000 homes in Greater Manchester, Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Their growth aspirations are to respond to the housing crisis in the North West, by assisting the millennial generation locked out of decent homes, those on low incomes, those in need of specialist housing and first-time buyers.

Utilising our extensive knowledge of the fire and security industry, we demonstrated value engineering through identifying the opportunity to provide a large cost saving with the warden call point covers.  We offered an equal or approved alternative solution and passed savings back to the client.  Upon review by the customer and being presented with significant savings per unit, our solution was included in the revised design specification.

There were two separate phases to the installations; the fire alarm installed within the communal areas and the individual AICO systems within the resident’s dwellings. The panel and wiring install team started on site first and completed the install of the panel, and the wiring throughout the site.

All installs were completed on time, within budget and with no defects.
