In 2019 Fieldway we were appointed onto Onward Homes Passive Fire Framework for all three of their regions. Works include fire door set replacements and fire door maintenance to flats entrance and communal areas in sheltered schemes and tower blocks.
We recently completed a fire door replacement project at Pendleway and Gower Court. Each fire door set was required to have a door closer installed but during the survey we noticed many of the residents were wheelchair users and the door closers would inhibit free movement through their property.
We worked with our Active Fire Manager, and a “free-swinging” door arm solution integrated into the scheme fire alarm was proposed to the client. This solution provided uninhibited movement for the residents but would provide crucial protection in the event of a fire.
Some of the other projects we have completed include:
- The Hub, Stockport – fire door maintenance programme including new intumescent seals, drop seals, hinges and closers.
- Onward – Vale House, Lancashire – fire door maintenance (new fire and smoke seals, new hinges, re lipping doors) and penetration sealing.
